다이오드펌핑 고체레이저는 표준 반도체다이오드레이저로 구성되며 소형 결정상태의 매질을 광학적으로 펌핑함에 의하여 1차 주파수를 발생시킵니다. 청색 또는 녹색 레이저빔을 발생시키려면, 주파수를 2배로 만들 수 있는 결정 매질을 레이저 공진기 내에 설치해야 합니다. 결론적으로 광학 요소가 레이저빔을 확대시키고 평행광으로 만들어 줍니다.
